For this tutorial we are going to use a previously defined study: Sample Raw which is in Phantom Database.Phantom database is already defined and you should be able to see it in Data Manager. Hint: See help_data_raw file for information on the BrainStorm 'raw' data format which lets you import your own data easily.
- Select Phantom as the Current Protocol and Sample Raw as the current folder in Data Manager (see also the Phantom data page for more on this dataset).
No data file is available for this folder yet. To import the raw MEG data for this study:
- Go to Data Manager -> File -> Import data to open the Importing Data From.. window.
- Select Montreal Phantom in Associate to Subject section.
- Choose Raw Formats in the drop down menu called Available native data formats.
- Open Mixed_brainstormstudy.mat in Sample_Raw folder. Hint: Follow the title to decide the file to select for the following steps.
- Select Mixed_channel_locations.txt and press open, select CTF/Magnes as the Subject Coordinate System (SCS).
- Click Mixed: Read File for the question Homogenous or Mixed Array Type? since it is a mixed array type. Hint: Select MEG or EEG if you have a single array of data.
- Select Mixed_channel_type.txt as the sensor type.
- Select Mixed_channel_orient.txt for orientation.
- Select Mixed_channel_labels.txt for labels.
- Select Mixed_channel_refweights.txt for reference weights.
- Select Mixed_data_Trial1.raw as the Spatio-temporal Data Matrix.
- Select Mixed_data_Trial1_time.txt for file time values.
- And click YES when you are asked to transpose the 375 by 182matrix. Hint: Dimension of your data matrix should be number of sensorsxnumber of time points.
- Press Close and you should see Mixed_data dataset available for Sample_Raw data folder in Data Manager. If you don’t see the new data go to Data Manager -> Database -> Rescan database contents. This will force BrainStorm to scan the directories again and find the new data. Hint: Click Inverse Solutions -> Interactive on
BrainStorm Main Window and Plot in Data Viewing section of
Data Viewer to see the data.
