Brainstorm will not startup under matlab 7.6.0

When trying to setup brainstorm in matlab 7.6.0 I get the following messages.

Bad value for text property: 'Interpreter'

Error in ==> warndlg at 51

Error in ==> startup at 200

Trying the solutions for the version 7 bug did not help.
I tried to fix several of the errors, but could not fix all.
