Digimouse: Creation of Atlas

Digimouse is generated as a 3D whole body mouse atlas with 0.1mm cubical voxels and a matrix size of 380x992x208 using coregistered CT and cryostat data. The atlas data along with the raw and coregistered CT, PET and cryosections can be downloaded from "Download" section.

Current configuration does not allow embedding of the file anim1.swf because of its mimetype application/x-shockwave-flash.: anim1.swf

Rendering of the organs segmented from the Cryosections with the registered skeleton and skin obtained from the CT data of Digimouse: structures shown here are: whole brain, external cerebrum, cerebellum, olfactory bulbs, striatum, medulla, massetter muscles, eyes, lachrymal glands, heart, lungs, liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, kidneys, testes, bladder, skeleton and skin

Anatomy of the mouse was defined using a semi-automated curve extraction tool implemented specifically for development of this atlas using Matlab. This graphical user interface allowed us to load the registered 2D cryosection slices and to segment individual organs from these slices. The segmentations of the organs were done by the help of a professional mouse anatomist.Anatomy of the mouse was defined using a semi-automated curve extraction tool implemented specifically for development of this atlas using Matlab.
