Baseline for sLORETA

Hello,

We want to perform source analysis on continuous EEG recordings obtained during resting state and several cognitive conditions. Our choice for source reconstruction would be sLORETA. Do you think that setting the baseline to an interval of zero (as we do not have a baseline period) would be optimal?

Also, would sLORETA compute a decent source reconstruction from 32 EEG channels recordings?

Thank you in advance,

Victor

The minimum norm estimates would always give results, even with three electrodes. However you have to be careful with the interpretation: you might not want to report the localization of the estimated sources with more precision than the lobe. Source imaging does not add any information to the model, it only represents the same data in a different way. It is not going to show any information that is not present already in the recordings. Depending on your objectives, sensor-level analysis is sometimes more indicated than source-level for low-resolution EEG.
