Does "Extract values" already flip signs of sources?

Dear all,

Going through the forum I see that the "flip sign" feature has been discussed thoroughly. As I understood, the "Scouts time series" feature includes a "flip signs" option, which is not included in the newer "Extract values". However, two files obtained respectively with the two functions are identical. During the extraction with "Scouts time series", I can see in the command window that many sources are flipped, so I am wondering if "Extract values" already flips the signs of the sources by default...may this be the case? May the files be identical somehow due to my data instead?

The process "Extract values" always flips the sources when computing scouts time series.
The process "Extract scouts time series" offers an additional to disable this flipping option.
