Export to DICOM

Hi,

I am looking to export T1 MRI and MEG source localization files from Brainstorm in a DICOM format. I can find NIfTI as an option but not DICOM. Is there any way of saving to DICOM using Brainstorm?

Best wishes,

I am not aware of any open-source software capable of writing DICOM files.

DICOM is a standard for scanners (MRI, CT, PET, X-ray...) to store medical images together with all the configuration information of the equipment. A lot of the metadata from the DICOM files is lost when converting to .nii or importing into most processing software.
DICOM is not meant to store and exchange processed volumes.

What is your objective?

Hi Francois,

We are aiming to use MEG source localization of events co-registered on a T1 MRI to help guide electrode implantation. But the robot is only capable of using DICOM files.

Ellie

It looks like there are programs that do that.

Note that results produced with Brainstorm, or any other imaging software that is not approved for clinical use, SHOULD NOT BE USED IN A CLINICAL CONTEXT.

Thank you, Francois. And understood.

Ellie
