Join the Brainstorm Community at CuttingGardens 2026

We are excited to invite the Brainstorm community to participate in CuttingGardens 2026, a worldwide conference dedicated to EEG, MEG, and neuroimaging research, taking place September 21–25, 2026. CuttingGardens is a unique global event that combines a shared international scientific program with locally organized meetings around the world.

Brainstorm Workshop & more at the San Diego Garden

This year, the San Diego Garden is being jointly organized by the University of Southern California (USC), through the Brainstorm team, and the University of California San Diego (UCSD), through the EEGLAB team. This collaboration brings together two leading open-source EEG communities to offer a rich program of scientific talks, tutorials, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities focused on cutting-edge methods for electrophysiology and multimodal neuroscience.

San Diego Program Highlights

The San Diego Garden will feature a two-day (Sept 23 and 24) in-person program including:

  • Intro and Hands-on Brainstorm and EEGLAB workshops

  • Scientific talks from leading researchers in EEG and neuroimaging

  • Sessions on multimodal EEG, computational neuroscience, and machine learning

  • Cognitive and clinical neuroscience applications

  • Networking opportunities with researchers, students, and software developers

  • Poster sessions showcasing current research from the community

The scientific program will include presentations and discussions with internationally recognized researchers, including Scott Makeig, Bradley Voytek, Richard Leahy, Arnaud Delorme, Agatha Lenartowicz …, with additional speakers and program details to be announced. (Please check the full agenda here San Diego | CuttingGardens2026)

Present Your Research

We warmly encourage participants to contribute to the meeting by presenting their work during the poster session. Researchers, students, and trainees are invited to submit an abstract during the registration process and share their latest findings with the CuttingGardens community.

Location and Registration

Location: San Diego, California, USA
Dates: September 23–24, 2026

Attendance at the San Diego Garden is intentionally limited to maintain a highly interactive workshop environment. Registration is now open, and available places are limited. We encourage interested participants to register as early as possible to secure their spot.

For those unable to travel to San Diego, online attendance is also available for the scientific talks, allowing participants from around the world to engage with the program remotely. Please see the registration page for details regarding in-person and virtual participation options.

A Global EEG Event

CuttingGardens 2026 is more than a local meeting. Through a shared international program broadcast across all Gardens, participants can engage with researchers and events taking place across more than 20 locations worldwide. Each Garden contributes its own local activities—including talks, tutorials, posters, workshops, and social events—while remaining connected to the global scientific community (Global program will be shared soon).

Your participation in a local Garden also provides access to the broader CuttingGardens experience, creating unique opportunities for international collaboration and scientific exchange.

Sponsors & Exhibitors

A limited number of sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are still available for the San Diego Garden. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers, clinicians, students, and industry leaders from the international EEG and neuroscience community.

Organizations interested in participating are encouraged to contact the organizers for sponsorship packages and exhibitor information.
