Amplitude Envelope Correlation issue importing in Matlab

Dear Brainstorm developers and users,
I am sorry for the maybe trivial question:
I have started to estimate the Amplitude Envelope Correlation (AEC) and its variant on orthogonalized signals (Ortho-AEC) to minimize the volume conduction issues for my 20 channels scalp EEG data.
I would like to focus on and calculate global connectivity measuring AEC and ortho-AEC for all possible channels combination and averaging the results taking in consideration standard frequency bands for brain activity (delta 2-4 Hz; Theta 5-7 HZ, alpha 8-12 Hz. beta 1 13-20 Hz; beta2 21-29 Hz; gamma 30-60 Hz).
When I import the results of the AEC on MATLAB to average the results for frequency bands, I get both negative and positive results, is it correct to average these responses (with both positive and negative results) or should I take in consideration just the absolute value?

Thank you in advance and I hope you will be able to help me, it would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Would you please tell where you find negative values? Is it like some trials or upper/lower diagonal of the matrix? Also, what do you want to average among?
