Hi all,
When defining bands in a wavelet analysis, do the ranges overlap if you enter in eg .5hz-4hz and 4hz-8hz? Ie, is it problematic to include 4hz in both band definitions?
Thank you.

In that case 4Hz, will be included in both bands.

If only the start and stop of the band are indicated as in the image above, the wavelet transform is computed for those two values and two more values in the middle, the TF for those four frequencies is the averaged (if the function is mean).
E.g., [2,4] will evaluate for [2, 2.66, 3.33, 4]
and [4,7] will evaluate for [4, 5, 6, 7]

If it is problematic or not, it will depend on your research question.
