Brain Vision Analyser Walkthrough

Dear All,

Last week I gave a little workshop on using Brainstorm for students as part of a course on neuroimaging. They enjoyed BS very much! I used some EEG data from our department as an example (from a figure-ground segregation and masking paradigm) and written some code to convert exported Brain Vision Analyser data to RAW. I’ve put the whole set - powerpoint walkthrough, example data and code - on the net for maybe someone can find it of use (see below).
The department recently acquired a Neuronav setup which permitted us to measure our electrode-positions on the scalp of a subject - together with fiducials (nasion, inion, left and right preauricular). BV2BS.mat does not convert electrode positions from BVA to BS, but does add 4 empty channels for fiducials in the data file (BV2BS_nofic.mat does not add those channels). The sensorlocation we used instead - measured by the Neuronav - are included in the download. Please feel free to use anything. Comments/questions are welcome.

Cheers, Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Waow ! I 'm very impressed by all the hard work you’ve been putting in this tutorial. This is quite amazing. Would you agree that we put a link to the ppt and the rar on the BrainStorm website so that some other people may benefit from this all ?

With very much appreciation,

Hi Sylvain,

Thanks, nice to hear. It did turn out to be quite an assignment ;).
I agree, hope it will be helpful for others.

Greets, Stephen
