Cannot View Channels After Sept. '25 Update

Hi BrainStorm team,

I updated BrainStorm earlier this week (on Tuesday, 2025.9.9, I think), shortly after the new update was released. I am able to load my protocols, switch between them, etc. However, I cannot open channel files or open the montage editor. When I try to open a channel file, by clicking on “FieldTrip Channels (n),” I see the following error:

If I try to view a raw file, I get this error:

And although I am ultimately able to click on “Link to Raw File” again and view the time series data, if I try to change the viewing montage (right click - Montage - Edit Montages) I also get an error. In MatLab, the error message reads:

What can I do to resolve this?

Hi @MPorter,

It seems something went off, with updating the Java components of Brainstorm.
To solve it:

  1. Close Brainstorm and all instances of Matlab
  2. Go to the folder where Brainstorm code is (brainstorm3 by default)
  3. Delete the file /brainstorm3/java/brainstorm.jar
  4. Start Matlab and Brainstorm, then the file brainstorm.jar will be automatically downloaded
