Common Average Reference for SEEG/ECoG

Dear Brainstorm creators and users,

I was puzzled by the text https://neuroimage.usc.edu/brainstorm/Tutorials/MontageEditor where is stated that " For ECoG and sEEG recordings, the average reference is computed separately for each group of contacts , typically each grid/strip or depth electrode."

I thought than this could actually spoil my sLORETA results, but when I checked the montage matrix for SEEG average reference and tried debugging of the montage process, it seemed to me that this does not apply when using Avg Ref even when the sensors groups are defined. Expected behavior described in the tutorial is produced by using "SEEG (local average ref)" montage. So I am right that this local average reference is not default behavior and the statement in tutorial might be outdated?

Thank you very much,
Adam

You are right, the montage "average reference" always uses all the sensors of the same type for EEG/ECOG/SEEG.
I didn't update the documentation after adding the menu "local average ref" for SEEG/ECOG. This is now fixed: https://neuroimage.usc.edu/brainstorm/Tutorials/MontageEditor#Average_reference

Thanks for reporting this issue!
