Flipping the activation between left and right hemispheres is not as trivial as it seems. This is because the hemispheres are not symmetrical and there is not an one-to-one equivalence between left- and right-hemisphere vertices. There are few post addressing this topic:

Dear Francois, My BS is 02-Jun-2016/MCR2015b on Win7. I have one subject whose MRI files need to be reversed in right and left. The MRI files were made using Freesurfer. When I import the files, using MriViewer, I flipped right-left. This resulted in R-L flip of the head mask, but not cortex (See right/bottom of the attached figure). Right/top is the result of import without flipping. I would appreciate if you could tell me how to reverse R-L of the cortex as well. Chie

Hi Brainstorm, I’m doing the source estimation of left or right-hand electrical stimulation. If i want to transfer the activation map of left hemisphere into right one, how can i do? Thanks for your answer and please advice further. Richard
