Left-right reversal of cortical activation

Hi Brainstorm,

I’m doing the source estimation of left or right-hand electrical stimulation.
If i want to transfer the activation map of left hemisphere into right one, how can i do?

Thanks for your answer and please advice further.

Richard

Hi Richard,

You want to overlay the activity of the left hemisphere over the activities of the right one?
I’m not sure this makes a lot of sense. The shape of the cerebral cortex is not symmetrical, you do not have the same structures on the left and the right, which makes it difficult to project directly the maps from one to the other.
One better way of proceeding to compare the activity of corresponding structures in the left and right hemispheres is to define ROIs (scouts) in both hemispheres and compare the activity over time in those two regions.

It is not possible yet to project a scout in one hemisphere in the other one with Brainstorm. This will be implemented at some point, but not in the next few months.
You can use the anatomical atlases generated by FreeSurfer as a guide for defining manually those regions:

Thanks I really Need it.

Hi Francois,

Thanks for the quick reply.
