Correlation between EEG & MEG

Hi everyone,

I have simultaneously recording of EEG & MEG. We aim to explore the power spectrum and source localization of receptive listening for 3 minute recording, spontaneous data.

Then, my question is can I correlate the finding of EEG and MEG? So in what dimension or parameter I can correlate them?

MEG and EEG are techniques that capture slightly different mechanisms in the brain, they are not sensitive to the same sources. Therefore you can't expect to have exactly matching recordings between the two. Read about the physics of MEG and EEG to get a better understanding of the expected differences. A starting point could be the publications indicated in the "background readings" section of the tutorials page:

Lead your analysis for the two modalities in parallel. In the end, you can draw conclusions from one or the other, and you'd have stronger evidence to validate your hypotheses if the observations converge for the two modalities.
