Data Corruption Issue After Loading Files in Brainstorm

Dear Brainstorm Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to report an issue I recently experienced while using Brainstorm. After loading my data into the software, I noticed that the data became corrupted and some of the values and structures were changed unexpectedly. Because of this, I am no longer able to use or properly interpret the dataset.

I am not sure why this happened, as the data files were working correctly before being loaded into Brainstorm. I would appreciate your help in understanding the possible cause of this issue and any steps I can take to prevent it from happening again. If needed, I can provide additional details such as file format, software version, or sample files.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Kind regards,

Motahare Delbari

Hello @Motahare,

Brainstorm does not modify the original data, when it is loaded either:

  • A copy of the data is created and stored in a Brainstorm format, or
  • A link to that data is created

Can you provide more details on what you observed?

  • What data was loaded? Anatomy? Recordings?
  • What is the original format of the data?
  • Was the data stored in directory different from the Brainstorm database?
  • How did you loaded the data?
  • Where did you observe the corrupted data?
