I update the brainstorm and then, once I rerun it, I got this error and cannot open the brainstorm.
Please look into the issue, I cannot proceed further.

I added an extra check for the presence of process_nst_install.m:

However, I don't understand how this file could be missing, since it should be in brainstorm3/toolbox/process/functions/process_nst_install.m

This suggests there is something wrong with your Brainstorm install or Matlab path configuration.
I would suggest you do the following:
- delete the brainstorm3 program folder
- remove all the folders that are not related with the MATLAB installation from your Matlab path
- download a new version of Brainstorm manually from the website
