Error reviewing BDF (BIOSEMI) raw files

Hello!

I am trying to open a bdf, but I am getting an error (shown below). The files in question were opening without issue a few months ago. I have tried updating Brainstorm and checking that the bdf file type is selected is the “Types of File” field. What else can I do to troubleshoot?

Dear all,

I am encountering a similar error when trying to import my (.bdf) files. I have always been able to import these files into Brainstorm without any issues. However, since the latest update, I am no longer able to import my data for processing.

I also tried importing other raw datasets that I had previously processed successfully, but I obtained the same error.

Please find the error message attached.

Please update your Brainstorm instance to 05-Mar-2026

It is now possible for BDF files to show the x-axis in absolute time:

  1. BIOSEMI BDF files do not necessarily have a "Local recording identification" block in their header as EDF files do. ↩︎
