How to generate simulated EEG data from placing sources

Hi! I am looking for a way to simulate EEG data at each electrode corresponding to a source artificially placed by me. This is basically doing Forward Modelling.

Two Questions:

1. How to place a source in the brain (wherever we want)? Is this related to scout?
2. How to generate the corresponding EEG signal at all the electrodes?

I am new to this environment. Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Simulate scalp recording

Hi, I am a new user to brainstorm and need some help in simulating scalp recording. I have created a protocol with the default anatomy and have generated a realstic head model and I’m using colin EEG cap. I have selected a scout (region of interest) and would like to simulate the recording for only the selected region but when I click on simulate recording nothing happens. am I doing it wrong ? or what should I do If I wanted to generate EEG sensors recording assuming single region is active? …
