I am get data from contec device, and cannot read it because the software can only be used on windows machine. Does anyone have experience with reverse engineering of the device data from Contec device? If not, what is the general strategy if I want to get data from a EEG device if I do not have the software?

Contec kt88 is a scam, even in windows you can't use the data.
Although it is possible to export the data in edf format, that edf has errors and the voltage is set to half.
The worst thing is that the data does not correspond to the recorded signals,
and the electrode labels are not correct, you can check it.
Many universities have been warned about the scam of this cheap device.

Is the reading from their own software correct? If so, I guess there should be a way to get the correct data from the device.
actually, no, even the signal recording form their own software is not accurate, you can check it out by doing the basic signal calibration: even the eye blinks don't look like they should.
