Hi all, I just fascinated that I can do HRV analysis from the ECG leads kept with EEG, kindly help me with this.
@Anukrishnangd, thanks for reaching out. There are not specific tools in Brainstorm for the analysis of HRV. However, the methods available in Brainstorm can be used to can be used to enhance the ECG component registered on EEG channels, detect heartbeats, and generate the tachogram.

Usually, ECG is considered as noise on EEG signals, so methods such as ICA are used to remove the ICs that represent the influence of ECG on EEG. In your case, you can try the opposite, this is to say, to only keep ICs components that are the influence of ECG on EEG, with this EEG timeseries will be "contaminated" with heartbeats.

Then you can use the heartbeat detector in Brainstorm to find the heartbeat times

Finally, export these event times and compute HRV features in other software such as Kubios.
