I have 64 channel EEG file, When I am entering 64 channels in ICA menu it is taking almost 2-3 hours to run that.
Any advice how to make it fast?
Hello,
ICA decomposition is always computationally heavy.
You can reduce the number of dimensions in the input signals with a PCA first, but I don’t think this is advised by the authors of this method.
For any question regarding the ICA analysis in Brainstorm (using EEGLAB’s runica.m), please contact the EEGLAB support.
Cheers,
Francois
thank you for your reply
Hi Francois,
I’m so sorry for asking a lot.
a main important issue in ICA analyzing is to select the right component for removing blink or another artifact and it can lead to removing some of the main EEG information.
there are some plugins for this issue.
Is there any possibility to use another plugin in brainstorm?
for example, there is a plugin that it names is SASICA for bad component removing in EEGLab.
Best Regards,
Hamed
No, I’m sorry there is currently no automatic selection of ICA components that can be done in Brainstorm. It is planned, but we do not have the necessary resources to work on everything. We are welcoming contributions from EEG experts.
