ICA Components selection

Hello,

I’ll like to inquire the implication of selecting “unnecessary” components after running ICA on my dataset. This is because I utilized ICA for artifacts removal in my dataset. Now, I got 28 components in all and I really don’t know want can be used to guide my components selection.

Also, how do you select the optimal components for ICA artifact removal?. Is it subjective in its selection?

We cannot guide you precisely with these questions, as we are not experts in ICA labeling or selection.
But google can guide you in a rich EEG/ICA literature, especially in the EEGLAB community.
