Import clusters from SPM fMRI activation

Hello,

Does anyone know how to create a .gii texture in spm to import into brainstorm in load atlas function? I have my spm cluster maps in nii format from fMRI but I did not manage to import the binary cluster volume (I get the " The selected MRI file does not match the size of the subject’s MRI’' error even though volumes match) or create an activation surface for brainstorm.

Thanks

The trouble here is that you are trying to import an anatomical parcellation as a surface Scout atlas.

  1. First import the NIfTI file as an anatomical parcellation:

Right-click on the Subject with the T1 MRI, then Import MRI, select the "Files of Type" Volume atlas (subject space)

  2. Once this is done, with the source file displayed. You can create an Scout atlas using the anatomical parcellation imported in the previous step. This is the option Atlas > From subject anatomy.

This give good results if the you are using volume source models. Because, if surface source models are used, the imported an anatomical volume parcellation will be interpolated on a cortex surface, which usually results in very poor results.
