I'm trying to put the anatomy of sample introduction on my brainstorm but it doesn't work. An error message appears.
What should I do?

This error is related to the version of Java that Matlab is using.

1. Verify that Matlab is using other Java version rather than 8, to confirm the error cause

Hi @CamiloCastelblanco, the sun.misc were dropped in JDK9, but should be ok in JDK8 that is the one shipped with MatlabR2024a Java Platform, Standard Edition Oracle JDK 9 Migration Guide, Release 9 Could it be that you changed the JRE that Matlab uses? Run the command below to know which version of java is being used: >> version -java You can change the version with the function jenv Set Java path for MATLAB - MATLAB jenv

2. If that is the case, return to use the Java version that is included in Matlab with the command:
   >> jenv factory

I installed this version "ans =

JavaEnvironment with properties:

      Version: "Java 11.0.23+9-LTS with Amazon.com Inc. OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM mixed mode"
         Home: "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/amazon-corretto-11.jdk/Contents/Home"
      Library: "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/amazon-corretto-11.jdk/Contents/Home/lib/server/libjvm.dylib"
       Status: loaded
Configuration: "factory"

But this version dont have "sin.misc.BASE64Decoder" which brainstorm needs, is there another solution to launch brainstorm?

Which version of Matlab are you using?
What is the OS?
If macOS, is it an Apple Silicon processor?

I encountered the same problem. My matlab is R2024a, and my mac is M1 with MacOS Sonoma 14.5
