In the median nerve stimulation tutorials, did the volunteers indirectly undergo nociception processes?

Greetings everyone!

In the tutorials on median nerve stimulation, motor stimulation is often reported. However, depending on how the stimulation is applied, it may also stimulate fine nerve fibers and activate additional brain regions. Is there a possibility that the volunteers experienced nociception processes indirectly due to this type of stimulation?

Thank you for your insights!

Hi @AlexandreSE

We do not have this information on this specific data.

But in general practice, the stimulation threshold is tuned so the subject will not feel any pain and ensure that the stim amplitude is enough to elicit the desired movement.
