I am a very new user and I have a Neuroscan Quick-cap 32 I am trying to work with, but this is not a default option. Upon researching in other post suggestions, I tried to just mark the channels I needed as “good”, but that didn’t seem to work. I also tried to accomplish this by navigating through (MRI Registration>Edit) but then I get this error message:
BST> Warning: Cannot check the alignment sensors-MRI because no appropriate surface is available.
I am not sure what else to do. Thanks for any help!
I don’t have a default set of 3D positions for the Quick-cap 32.
If you can get this information (from the vendor or another software), please send it to me and I will add it in the Brainstorm distribution.
If the electrodes are simply a subset of a denser Neurscan cap, you can simply add your recordings to the database, then right-click on the channel file > Add EEG positions > ICBM152 > Neuroscan > Select the corresponding cap.
Hi!
I know this is an old post, but I have the same problem a recently, so I made my own sensor file for Quick Cap 32 and I just added to Colin generic Caps as ASA 32.
It is based on ASA electrode standard positions, but contains just the Quick Cap 32 electrodes, so is like the Neuroscan label matching option. I tested it and it works fine!
In order to work fine, you need to sort your electrodes in this way (this is the montage):
FP1
FP2
F7
F3
FZ
F4
F8
FT7
FC3
FCZ
FC4
FT8
T3
C3
CZ
C4
T4
TP7
CP3
CPZ
CP4
TP8
A1
T5
P3
PZ
P4
T6
A2
O1
OZ
O2
I hope it helps!
ps: you can always make your own file if you need, just take a standar position cap and delete or add (and sort) the electrodes you need.
However, if you use only the ASA default positions from Brainstorm, you can already load the electrode positions without having to create a new separate channel file template.
First link your recordings to your database (menu “Review raw file”), then right-click on the channel file > Add EEG positions > ICBM152 > Generic > ASA 10-05. This way it looks for the positions based on the electrode name, you don’t have to worry about the order (which is a possible source of errors).
I got the same warning when I tried to check the MRI registration :
BST> No scalp surface available for this subject.
BST> Warning: Cannot check the alignment sensors-MRI because no appropriate surface is available.
But I don't know why I got this warning and how to fix it.
I manually imported the individual anatomy (including MRI and surface files), does it have an impact?
