New York Head Model

Hi everyone,

I was looking into the new york head model (https://www.parralab.org/nyhead/), was wondering if anyone tried to use this head model for computing sources or kernel, and how it was done. I am able to import the head model into brainstorm, and view it. However, i do not know how to compute the head model for computing the sources, need some help there.

Kind Regards

Hello

This has been discussed a few times by email already, but I never got any clear conclusion and never put the effort to wrap it up myself. Let me forward your message to people who might help you with this.

Another exciting upcoming Brainstorm feature coming is the implementation of DuNEURO:

I was also working on implementing the NY Head Model and would be interested in instructions as well.

Hi,

The NY head model is a FEM mesh of the ICBM template generated with 'roast' toolbox (+ some manual corrections).

The default subject within brainstorm is also the ICBM with three layers (less resolution than NY).

I assume that you were able to import only the surfaces. you can compute the head model using the OpenMeeg but I'm not sure that you can use more than 3 layers.
btw, you need also to import the course space and the electrode positions and you have to check if all these data are in the same coordinates system.

We the new implementation within brainstorm you can generate your own FEM mesh and if you use the ICBM MRI you will get a version ofthe NY head model within brainstorm.

Furthermore, you can perform forward computation with this model.
