No more database after last update

Hi,

I just update brainstorm with the latest version. But now my database is no loading anymore (still on my hard disk). Do you have any clue ?

Thanks your help;

Aurélien

To give a little bit more details on that:
I have no folders anymore in my database (see screenshot)
Matlab is sending me this message
BST> Loading current protocol...
DB_FIX> Missing subject: "@intra"...
DB_FIX> There were errors in protocol "ActObs". You should reload the database...

But if I reload the database, nothing happen; my protocole stays empty.

In any case if this could help, before updating the database I projected my subjects data on default anatomy, which ended up with an error message about a missing subject... but at this time (before upgrading the last version) I could still see my database and plot my data.

Hi!

In order to debug this we will need more information. If you go to your brainstorm database folder (run bst_get('BrainstormDbDir') if you're unsure what it is), is it possible for you to zip and send to us your ActObs folder? If that is too big, can you give us some screenshots of its subfolders and send to us your protocol.mat (under ActObs/data/)?

One thing you can try once your protocol.mat file is backed up is to simply delete it and try to reload your protocol.

Martin

Hi Martin,

thanks for your fast and clear response. Hum my database is more than 600go so kind of tricky to send it even zipped. I will try to delete/reload operation you mentionned and in the case it does not work, will send you part of the subfolder organization.

Best,

Aurelien

Hi Martin,

deleting the protocol.mat and reload the database did not change anything (it did not even recreated a protocol.mat...). I dig a little bit into into this and give you an update on that.

Thanks for your help,

Aurelien

Hi again (and sorry for the spam).

It seems like some of the link in the protocol.mat have been erased; probably due to an accident between the time I updated and latest version and I guess a previously unfixed issue in my database. A few things I've noticed which could help understanding the problem (maybe):

In the ProtocoleStudies.Study.Results of the last analyses I have conducted are still references results that I have suppressed from the database (of course in brainstorm; not directy in the database).

ProtocoleStudies.Analysis have no reference to results paths...

Not sure if this is of any help, but could be...

Thanks again for your support,

Aurelien

Here is the full protocol.mat file

I met offline with Aurelien and simply changing the database directory back to the proper folder fixed it. It seems the issue was either his external hard drive with the protocol disconnecting or a conflict with another protocol of the same name.

:+1:

@aweiss01 Time to set up a proper backup

hehe sorry for the very easy bug to debug; thanks guys for your helpful and fast help.
