Open MEEG error update

Hi Francois,
Our lab is also having similar issues with OpenMEEG. We are using the spherical and overlapping models for the time being. However it would be really helpful if you could tell us when you think this problem would be solved.
We are working on a new source localization project and it would help to know when OpenMEEG would start working again so we can plan our data analysis’ timeline.

Thank you,
Michel

Dear @cpapad,

can you be more explicit about the “similar issues”?
what OS are you using? what similar error do you get?

thanks for any feedback.

Alex

Hi Alexandre,

Our OS is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, we are working on the latest version of Brainstorm using matlab.
So far when we want to use the openMEEG option, either of two things has been happening:

1- either nothing happens and the head model/OpenMEEG continues loading endlessly but with no results. We can also see a matlab error.

openMEEG

2- Or, we receive the following error on Brainstorm:

We tried decreasing the number of vertices and tried different options with the number of layers used but nothing worked.

Thanks for your help Alex!

hi,

if you update OpenMEEG this core dump should disappear.

We still have a bug to fix if you use a big model but in the mean time
you can do this change:

so basically change 2 lines in bst_headmodeler.m
and it should work.

Please confirm if it fixes your problem and sorry for the slow reaction time.

Alex

@Alexandre
You need to change the package names if you want Brainstorm to update automatically openmeeg.

@cpapad you should now be able to update brainstorm and get an updated version (2.4.1) of OpenMEEG that should work out of the box.

Alex

To update Brainstorm manually, use the menu Update > Update Brainstorm.
The next time you use OpenMEEG to compute a forward model, the newest version (2.4.1) should be downloaded and installed automatically.
