For some subjects (6 in total), I no longer have any available scouts, and I am experiencing an issue with the "smooth" functionality: the smoothing scale changes, but there is no visible modification of the brain (it does not “inflate” or “deflate”). I have installed the new version of Brainstorm (May 1, 2025), but I already encountered this issue with the previous version.
For other subjects, these parameters work correctly, even though the settings are exactly the same. I do not understand why this issue only affects some subjects. It’s also worth noting that I don’t have this problem if I switch to a different protocol or use an older protocol.
Can you help me identify the source of this problem? Do you think I should re-import these subjects and redo the whole process? What would you advise me to do?
Verify that the default surface (in green) is properly selected for those 6 subjects.
You can double-click the surface to make it the default, or right-click on it then Set as default cortex
Please share relevant screenshots of what you are experiencing so we can have a better idea on what is going on in your side.
Thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, I still haven’t been able to resolve this issue.
I have attached several screenshots: one with the low scale, another with the high scale, one showing the pipeline I am using, and another to show that there are no scouts left for these subjects.
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you in advance,
I found the solution, you were right: the selected surface was not the correct one. I was able to notice this by right-clicking on my sources and selecting "View file content." I saw that for these 6 subjects, the associated file was “@default_subject/tess_cortex_pial_low_fig.mat”, whereas for the correct subjects, it was “@default_subject/tess_cortex_pial_low.mat”.
Thank you for your help. Now that the surface is properly updated, I will delete the sources for these subjects and then reprocess my data.
