I am trying to perform an ICA to remove artifacts from my dataset, however the ICA components tab under the artifacts menu of record is blanked out, meaning that option is not performable. I am not sure why - my data is loaded properly, I am able to map cortical activations and load my data. I am using brainstorm on a macbook with MATLAB2016a. Could you please inform or let me know of anything I may be doing incorrectly to not allow me to complete this?
In Brainstorm, we want to promote the workflow of applying the pre-processing on your raw data, and then only importing your data once it is fully pre-processed (refer to our Tutorials for more information). For this reason, it is only possible to compute SSP or ICA artifacts from raw data, not from already imported data. Make sure you’re trying to use the ICA option from a raw signal (right click on your subject -> Review raw file) rather than an already imported signal.
Hi there,
Replying to this old post instead of making a new one as im having the same issue.
(first set) I loaded in the raw data, I downsampled, notch and bandpass filtered. EEG locations are added etc. Im ready to start ICA however the option is also disabled for me.
(second set) After reading the comment from @MartinC I created a new protocol and added the same subject just fresh raw version of the data sample. Again, ICA components option is disabled.
I'm not sure what im doing wrong. I originally processed my data about 2 years ago and I'm following the same steps. This time, I'm retracing my steps from raw data, but its not working. I'm quite confused.
Any suggestions?
I eventually found a way to make ICA work!
I am wondering, has the ICA itself changed in any way over the last 2-3 years? The Brainstorm tutorial page hasn't been updated to show the new way to run ICA with "review as raw" option.
