PSD Welch's method into Frequency Bands

Hello to the Brainstorm team,

When conducting PSD using Welch's method using frequency bands I noticed that the gamma band has been split into two groups (gamma 1 and 2 each with a different frequency band).
What are the reasons for 1) splitting gamma into two groups and 2) splitting the gamma band into these two specific frequency bands?

thank you in advance.

This separation between low- and high-gamma we propose is based on empirical observations that the patterns observed at 30-60Hz can be different than those observed in higher ranges. However, in most cases, the differences to be expected are less significant than between the other canonical frequency bands.

You may prefer to adjust the definition of these frequency bands to match the reference literature in your research field.
