Question about "parametric test against zero/baseline"

Hello,

I'm wondering that, is it necessary to do "parametric test against zero or baseline" after I did baseline normalization for source, TF map, and connectivity file?

My MEG study only has 1 condition, and the trial is "blank (baseline)--word--figure (task)". And I want to get the results of all the subjects about source, time-frequency map, and connectivity.
So far I've done:
baseline normalization and projection for source,
baseline normalization for TF map (using scout),
baseline normalization for connectivity analysis (based on subject-level averaged source; using scout)

After that, do I need to do "grand average" or "parametric test against zero or baseline", or should I do both of them?

That depends on your aim. That parametric will give you the statistics and their p-values when comparing against the baseline.

This again, depends on your goals. The grand average can help to visualize changes across all the subjects, but it will not tell if the changes are statistically significant.

I got it. Thank you for replying!
