Hi all,
I was wondering if there is anyway to get Brainstorm to work with .elp, .hsp and .seq files produced by our backup laser scanner.
The laser scanner we normally use is out of service for a while, so we have to use the backup.
If not, is there any reliable way that you know of to convert these files in a ‘Brainstorm friendly format’?
Thanks and my best,
Barrie Klein
Hello,
The .elp extension is used by several programs already supported by Brainstorm, but I don’t know if it corresponds to the format of your files.
I don’t know this system and I have never seen the other file extensions.
Could you post some example files here so I can have a look at them?
What is the manufacturer and model of your laser scanner?
Thanks,
Francois
Hi Francois,
Thanks for you quick reply.
I am not sure about the manufacturer, but I think it is Polhemus, but I can check.
I have attached a zip file to this post containing the three files.
My best,
Barrie
Hello,
This looks a bit complicated to write a reader for these files, as the three files should be read simultaneously.
I could add the support for this format at some point, but I would need the proper documentation of the files to read it properly.
Do you happen to have a simple Matlab reader for these files.
In the meantime, you can create easily new files that you can import in Brainstorm. See the example file I attached here: test.zip (13.7 KB)
Create a file with the extension .pos, add the position of the three fiducials and the sensors with the syntax "Index Name X Y Z".
Add all the additional head points with the syntax "X Y Z".
Load the .pos file with the file format "EEG: Polhemus".
Cheers,
Francois
PS: Update Brainstorm before, because I just fixed a bug that prevented from reading this file correctly.
Hi Francois,
Sorry for the late reply.
I do not have a matlab reader for these files at this moment.
Thanks for helping out with the .pos file.
I’ll let you know if I run in any trouble.
My best
