Some questions about Desikan Killany (DK) atlas

Dear Brainstorm Team,

I have some questions regarding the Desikan Killany (DK) atlas. According to the paper (Frontiers | 101 Labeled Brain Images and a Consistent Human Cortical Labeling Protocol), the Entorhinal cortex, Parahippocampal gyrus, and Fusiform gyrus are considered part of the medial temporal lobe in this atlas. However, I am confused about whether the regions in the medial temporal lobe are all deep brain structures, such as the hippocampus. Specifically, I would like to know if the aforementioned three regions are cortical or subcortical. If they are subcortical, what is their relationship with the hippocampus? Or, are they located between the hippocampus and the cortex?

Looking forward to your reply. I would be immensely grateful for any assistance you can provide.

Yours sincerely,
Xiaoke

Thank you for posting this. Please note that your question addresses fundamental neuroanatomical issues rather than software aspects. While it is possible that someone from the Brainstorm user community may respond to this thread, we believe that the information you need can be readily found in reference sources available on the web.

To my knowledge these are cortical gray matter structures rather than subcortical, that are adjacent to hippocampus.
