Source analysis, Spectral Power and Continuous Recording (EEG)

I will get to the point, I have the following question:

  • I have EEG data (64 electrode arrays) from 30 subjects in 2 conditions: improvising a speech for 10 min or repeating a memorized speech for the same time. I also have 1 min baselines for both conditions.

  • As you can see, these data have no trials, they are a continuous record of 10 min per condition plus 1 min baseline.

  • My question is, what would be the best way to analyze this data in brainstorm (the data are already preprocessed and clean), thinking that I want to calculate power over EEG sources (I have localization obtained with polhemus fastrack) and compare statistically both conditions (I would like to use Desikan-Killiany for scout).

Please could you give me some guidance on this?

The choice of methods depends on your neuroscience question. What are your hypotheses?

Hypothesis:

  • Gamma Band: Improvising > memorizing
  • Theta Band: Improvising < memorizing.
