I was wondering if it was possible (either with Brainstorm or with some other software, but I did not find anything) to subdivide a raw (CTF) data file if we have a large head movement at some moment during the session? I would like to have a file from the beginning to this event, and another file starting after this event, so that head movement does not affect the analyses.
Yes we have exactly this process from the Process1 box under File -> Split raw file. Just enter the name of the event around which you would like to split your file.
On a related note, I was wondering if it will be possible one day to adjust the head position for every time point / trial? Or maybe that would be too much computation and would be unnecessary? Thanks a lot!
That would be great indeed! Unfortunately, it's not that simple. How to deal with a varying head position depends on the type of analysis you're doing. Perhaps only dipole fitting, which can be done on a sample-by-sample basis, could account for it directly. Otherwise some form of interpolation is usually needed and that's never perfect. That's the idea of SSS, which is also mentioned in the head motion tutorial (as a "to do" item), but from what I've heard and seen so far, it doesn't give very good results. I intend to get back to SSS and finish implementing it in Brainstorm eventually, but it's not a priority right now.
