Hi,

I would like to ask a basic question. Why is the source of ERP with average-reference same as the source of ERP with link mastoid-reference? I used the same anatomy template, same eeg cap and the same BEM head model, thus the leadfield matrix would be the same.

But the ERP data with two different references have different amplitudes (but the scalp voltage pattern look similar, only with a difference of a constant), why the sources and sources amplitudes of two different reference data are consistent?

Hello,
The EEG recordings are always converted to an average reference before the source estimation.
