Understanding the Noise Covariance Matrix More Deeply

Dear Brainstorm Community,

Could someone please help me understand how the Brainstorm noise covariance matrices function? Are covariances between each electrode for each baseline time point averaged into a single matrix? If so, how is the matrix then applied to the rest of the data (the non-baseline data)?

Thank you!

Hi Marcel,

you might want to have a look at our recent paper:

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1053811914010325

it should give you some materials to understand the noise covariance estimation + whitening steps.
