What is enough source number to calculate FC?

Hello,

I'm struggling with the shortage of EEG channel number(21 channel) to calculate FC(functional connectivity). So I thought, reducing the number of sources can be the second best way at the aspect of mathematical formula. But I'm afraid of the calculated FCs such as Characteristic path length, PLV(phase-locking value), are meaningful.

I want to hear your insights of this alternative way.
Thank you

21 channels are insufficient to perform source localization and connectivity at the source level.

If you still want to test it, you can perform the connectivity using the brain scouts from the available atlases (you can compute the mean response or PCA per scout) and perform scout connectivity.
