What' the differences between vertices & voxels?

Hi,
in many papers, authors use “voxel” expression and its resolution for making head model but in tutorial 3 ,importing individual anatomy, has been used "vertices " expression, so i want to know differences between these two expressions?

thanks,

Hello:

The terms can be used pretty much interchangeably. Voxels refer to individual source locations for analyses performed across the volume of the brain. If you add cortical constraints to source mapping, as is default in brainstorm, voxels become vertices of a surface grid based on the envelope of the cortex. This latter can be extracted from the individual MRI of the subject, or can be obtained from one of the anatomical templates featured in Brainstorm.

Hope this clarifies,

Hi Sylvain,

I’m thank’s a lot for your quick answering
