I am working on a large dataset (~ 500 subjects) in Brainstorm (on a Mac) under one protocol. I would like to now move this entire protocol to a Windows computer.
My questions are:
Would there be any issue exporting the protocol from a Mac to a Windows machine?
Size limitation: This solution is limited to smaller databases: creating zip files larger than a few Gb can take a lot of time or even crash. For larger databases, prefer the other options below.
In this case, would exporting each subject as their own zip file be an alternative? If so, is there any way to script the process of exporting each subject (as a zip)?
It seems the instructions for Move a protocol are more appropriate for your large protocol. In the Step 4 copy the files instead of moving them, in case something goes wrong in the transfer. The different OS should not be an trouble.
In my case, my Mac has one set of protocols in the brainstorm_db folder, and the Windows has a completely different set of protocols. If I wanted to move the specific protocol to the Windows machine but also keep it on the Mac (meaning I want to copy the contents of the protocol folder and then transfer to the Windows machine, while not changing/moving anything in the original protocol folder on the Mac), would I still first do the following step:
Unload: Menu File > Delete protocol > Only detach from database.
