Organizing data for decoding

Hello,

I am trying decoding and have a question that I cannot infer from the reports. Could you please explain what will be considered as a condition if I feed in data in the following way?

I work with epoched data. Trials per run are organized in lists, and runs are organized in folders per subject. I need to decode 2 trials types (accordingly tagged files inside lists) for one subject. I send lists of runs to Process 1 and run Decoding. This might consider runs as conditions to decode which is not what I intend. Moving the target files in separate folders and creating two folders (one per condition I am interested in) is also not working. So my question is how to feed in data so that the trial type is considered as a condition. Many thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Anush

All Files are placed in the Process1 Tab. Then the sorting into Conditions is performed with either: (1) the File Name (without the trial number), or with (2) the Study (Folder) names of each file.

In the decoding tutorial, the files are sorted in two conditions faces and objects by the names of the trials as both types of epochs are imported in the same Study (folder). However, if the trials are imported in different folders, the name of the folder is used thus it is also valid (see the figure below).

  • Can you clarify what do you mean by "not working"?
  • Please report any message that is printed in the Matlab Command Window
  • If possible share a screenshot of you Brainstorm database tree, and the files that are placed in the Process1 tab for decoding
