I am trying to run analyses on specific thalamic nuclei that I merged in my User Scout. Currently, this only seems to work when viewing them on the thalamic surface (image 1). However, the merged nuclei, as well as the thalamic atlas itself, do not appear in the Head model β Scout tab (image 2).
My goal is to have these regions included in the head model scout so that I can use Extract β Scout time series to obtain ROIs for further analysis. Could you clarify:
Is the thalamic atlas automatically supposed to appear in the head modelβs scout tab directly after computing the head model?
If not, is there another way to make these nuclei available for time series extraction?
I apologize if my explanation was unclear, and thank you in advance for your help. Please let me know if additional information would be useful!
Hello @EthanY, you are in the good path by adding the thalamic surface and its scouts.
The missing part is generate a surface that contains your cortex and the thalmic surfaces. In this way these surfaces will be considered to compute the head (aka forward) model model, and with to estimated sources.
Thank you for your help! I was able to get the new mixed surface containing the cortex and thalamic nuclei of interest.
However, after I generated a new mixed surface for one single subject, I am now unable to compute the head model for any subjects for which I was previously able to compute a head model. Specifically, when I try to compute the head model, the button for βOKβ (shown in the image) will give no response or any error message anywhere. The issue persists regardless of which source space I choose.
