Volume model problems when using subcortical structures

Dear experts:
I am trying to create a volume model for computing functional connectivty with AAL atlas there seemed to be an issue with source and volume scouts because the scouts used were from atlases for surface areas. I did all the analysis like in this tutorial https://neuroimage.usc.edu/brainstorm/Tutorials/TutVolSource . Although when I start trying to add some scouts as volume in 3D I see no scout is added (in matlab is printed Call to EditScoutsSize ignored...)
I think something odd is happening. I don't know why. All I need is to use AAL in a volume model and use that fro coherence. If any suggestion I would be grateful.

I tried this tutorial https://neuroimage.usc.edu/brainstorm/Tutorials/DeepAtlas "Volume scouts" but when I click in menu Atlas > New atlas > Volume scouts . I receive a message error saying "No source grid is loaded. in this figure". That is when I do from "Anatomy".

Indeed, you need to have the volume source results displayed in order to create a volume atlas.
If you only display the MRI or cortex surface, there is no notion of "source grid".
Your source grid, that can be parcellated into various regions using an atlas like AAL, is defined when computing the forward model, and is copied to the source file.
