Ascending Branch of Sylvian Fissure
The Ascending Branch of the Sylvian Fissure (abSF) separates the pars opercularis from the pars triangularis, both sectors of the inferior frontal gyrus. It starts, as the name suggests, at the anterior end of the SF. It runs superiorly, parallel to the lower segment of the preCS, towards the IFS which it rarely reaches. The first point of the curve should be dropped inferiorly (1) followed by the terminal superior point (2).
